DEAR FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES,
On behalf of the NCAM 2021 Organizing Committee, we warmly welcome you to join the 8th NCIS Annual Research Meeting (NCAM) 2021, to be held on 30-31 July 2021 (Friday-Saturday). NCAM has been held since 2014 and has become an important forum for clinicians and scientists on the NCIS/NUHS campus and beyond to interact and showcase their cancer research work. Despite COVID, we continued NCAM in 2020 as a Virtual Meeting. NCAM 2020 was a success and attracted more than 700 registrants and 150 scientific abstracts. This year, we will present NCAM 2021 as a hybrid meeting for a restricted number of physical attendees in accordance to COVID safe distancing guidelines, with simultaneous Webcast to a remote audience. The theme for NCAM 2021 is ‘Targeting the Untargetable’ in Cancer Therapeutics, as novel discoveries are crucial to advance cancer treatment and improve outcomes of cancer patients. As in previous years, the main NCAM on Day 1, 30 July 2021, will comprise an Educational Session, Oral Abstracts Presentations and a Hear-The-Journey Session. We welcome you to submit abstracts on any aspects of cancer research in the following five categories: Basic Science, Clinical Science, Translational Science, Nursing/Paramedical/Supportive care, and a new category of Digital Informatics. Selected abstracts will be presented at the main NCAM meeting on Day 1, and awards given to the best abstracts. Day 2, 31 July 2021, will feature 2 mini symposiums on ‘Transforming Healthcare with Technology’ and ‘Advances in Surgical Oncology’. This conference will provide an excellent platform for cancer physicians and researchers in Singapore to interact and develop future collaborations. We look forward to your participation at the 8th NCIS Annual Research Meeting (NCAM) 2021!
